Full end to end service
Design
Our Design Services are the only the part of our business that cannot be utilised independently - in short we only design product that we will subsequently manufacture. This is a core ethic of ACL as we truly believe that the design cycle and successful manufacture are intrinsically linked.
Thus, by having the design and manufacture under one roof, you can rest assured that both areas are pulling in the same direction i.e. a product that is easy to manufacture (DFM) and is reliable (FMEA)
All of the design cycle is project managed by our Technical Director, who will oversee our experienced team of technical and production engineers, and liase with you incrementally. You can also see/interact with your project via a live web-link.
Our award wining successes include medical instruments, analytical equipment, monitoring systems and security devices to name a few. We have frequently developed products on behalf of clients bringing our experience to bear in achieving designs that both exceed expectations and are cost effective to manufacture.
In addition to the electronics and PCB design we are more than accomplished at full product design including mechanics, aesthetics and ergonomics, firmware and software.

Prototyping and NPI
As a natural progression from our Design service we can offer prototyping and a dedicated New Product Introduction (NPI) service.
We recognise that to have your prototypes produced on the machines that will subsequently mass manufacture them brings great peace of mind.
Therefore ACL prototypes are production ready with all machines programmed, tooled and set-up to move easily into mass-manufacture at no extra tooling costs.
Procurement
Effective and efficient Supply Chain Management has never been more important than in Today's volatile and fast paced electronics industry. At ACL we have a wealth of experience in maintaining cost effective supply and can tailor a bespoke solution to suite your exact requirements.
As we all know, the supply of components can change dramatically and lead-times can leap from a standard 4 weeks to 26 weeks almost overnight.
However, through our global franchised distribution partners, we can implement a range of inventory management solutions to eradicate this risk from your organisation. Such solutions range from simple buffer stock agreements to more complex VMI programs.
In addition, we have a global network of brokers to source all of those allocation, obsolete and hard to find parts - after all, having 99% of the parts to build your product is not good enough!
Finally, we can also agree to hold buffered stock of finished goods here at ACL to add that extra layer of cost effective security to your supply chain.

ACL is one of the very few assembly houses to have a custom fully integrated networked computerised stock & QA control system.
Written by ourselves, it incorporates all of our stock control and purchasing knowledge & know now of the last 21 years.
All data from inward material deliveries through to outward product shipments is stored electronically.Completely paperless !!
SMT and BGA Assembly
Assembly Contracts utilizes the best technologies available for precise, SM assembly. Pcb's can be automatically loaded, assembled, inspected and reflow soldered under the supervision of a single technician. QFP, TQFP, PLCC, TSSOP, SSOP, and QSOP through to the more recent package developments of 0201, LFBGA, TFBGA, FlexBGA, and QFN can all be accommodated.
A broad range of components can be automatically handled for speed & efficiency whilst we also have the capability of hand placements off-line for additional flexibility.
Solder Paste application is achieved to the highest accuracy using our in-line solder paste printing machines. Fiducial alignment is used to ensure repeatable results that minimise placement failure and the associated costly rework. Automatic optical Inspection enables us to inspect the solder fillet prior to component placement.

Mixed Technology Assembly
Leaded component insertion is centred around our automatic conveyorised Multistation Workcentre. Pcb's are automatically presented to each operative in a timely manner allowing for placement and inspection prior to the next operation.
Soldering can be facilitated either manually or using our CMS400DF Wave Soldering Machine. Cropmatic lead cutting is extensively used prior to the wave soldering process to ensure a finish of the highest consistency.
Our soldering processes are optimised to handle the complex demands of Today's printed circuit boards as well as the need to eliminate CFC cleaning.
We can wave solder all types of pcb's, from single sided to multilayer including properly designed surface mount and mixed technology combinations.
Final Assembly and Box Build
In addition to our range of design and assembly services, ACL also provide complete 'Box Build' solutions including materials management of all components, electromechanical parts, plastics, casings and print & packaging materials.
Complex and simple Cable assemblies, wiring looms and full cabinet wiring can also be accommodated and fully integrated into the final product assembly process.
Distribution and Logistics
As a true value added partner we aim to assist with all balance sheet efficiencies and one area of considerable success is that of our Distribution and Logistics service.
We understand that some clients would like to enjoy the efficiencies of having their products shipped direct to their end customer, but simply lack the confidence to let go of this important area of customer service.
Here at ACL we have had great success in managing distribution for our clients and indeed we currently ship product direct to the automotive production lines of arguably the most prestigious car name in the world.
Estate Management & After Sales
Repairs, Refurbishment and Logistics functions. Our mission is to help support your existing product base while you focus on growing your business. This section of our integrated offerings can optimize the business model of our Partners, and completes the end-to-end services offered by ACL.
- Troubleshoot: Identify causes of faults. Inform the client of potential fault aversion measures and/or reports to allow the client to invoice their clients.
- Repair: correct faults within the units and replace damaged components.
- Refurbishment: cleaning, up revising of product as necessary, test thoroughly, re-package and ship as instructed.
